Job summary

Pilot Company is seeking a customer-focused cashier for our travel center in Canada. You will process merchandise and fuel transactions, lead a shift of 1–2 cashiers, and complete end-of-shift reports. Follow guidelines for sale of restricted items and maintain an organized workspace to ensure quality service to every guest.

Responsibilities include handling guest complaints, scheduling breaks, and supporting other travel center tasks. Flexible nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience or working knowledge of retail operations.
  • Incredible customer service skills and the ability to help maintain a customer focused culture.
  • Must be proficient with a calculator, computer, and other equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different levels from hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Background check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a shift of one-to-two cashiers to process all types of cash, credit, and debit transactions
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures
  • Follow company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products
  • Ensure quality service is delivered to every guest
  • Handle guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines; resolve team member conflict; and communicate issues to management
  • Determine break schedules and team member placement during shift
  • Assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc.
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Job Description

  • Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures
  • Follow company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items (i.e., alcohol, tobacco)
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products
  • Ensure quality service is delivered to every guest
  • Handle guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines; resolve team member conflict; and communicate issues to management
  • Determine break schedules and team member placement during shift
  • Assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc.

Pay Rates Starting between: $15.55 - $19.65 / hour
