Job summary

GardaWorld seeks an Overnight Construction Security Guard in Penticton, British Columbia. You will protect construction equipment and property through vigilant patrols, strict access control, and proactive reporting to prevent theft and vandalism.

As an Equipment Watch and Construction Security Guard, you will monitor sites, verify IDs, and respond to alarms or incidents, ensuring safety and compliance across the project.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid BC security license.
• First aid certification - an asset.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness.
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the construction site to safeguard equipment, materials, and property from theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
• Verify identification and maintain strict access control, ensuring only authorized personnel, contractors, and visitors enter the site.
• Monitor construction equipment, storage areas, and site perimeters, reporting any security concerns or suspicious activity immediately.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle access logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, and document all observations and actions taken.
• Perform site inspections to ensure gates, fences, locks, and other security measures remain secure and operational.
• Coordinate with site management, law enforcement, or emergency services when required to address security-related incidents.
