Home Instead Nanaimo is hiring a Caregiver to provide in-home care with compassion. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, prepare meals, and offer companionship to seniors in their own homes. The role emphasizes dignity, respect, and independence for clients.

• Clear criminal background and vulnerable sector check.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Valid completion of OFA First Aid Level 1 course.
• Valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent.
• Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care to clients in their home setting.
• Assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Medication management.
• Preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.
• Assisting with light housekeeping tasks
• Monitoring and reporting changes in clients' health and well-being
• Companionship and engaging in meaningful activities with client.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• A clear criminal background and vulnerable sector check
• Reliable Transportation to work
• Valid completion of OFA First Aid Level 1 course
• Valid competition of FOODSAFE level 1 or equivalent
• Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Assets

• Previous caregiving experience
• Valid certifications or training in caregiving, personal support work, or related fields.
• Valid BC drivers license
