Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking an Oven Operator in Kitchener, ON to run and adjust oven controls, monitor oil levels, and conduct prescribed checks ensuring products meet quality standards. The role requires following GMP and safety guidelines and maintaining efficient production flow.

You will perform bake/moisture checks, record findings, and communicate with shifts to ensure seamless changeovers and adherence to specifications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust oven controls and monitor oil levels to meet quality indicators.
  • Record bake weight, oil weight, moisture checks, and product dimensions at regular intervals.
  • Check bake weight, oiled weight, seasoned weight (if applicable), and product dimensions every 15 minutes.
  • Conduct moisture checks every 30 minutes.
  • Record findings on the oven check form and in Infinity QS.
  • Notify the Crew Lead of any issues affecting product specifications.
  • Communicate shift-to-shift information about issues and changeovers.

Job Description:
About the Role:

The main objective of this position is to operate and adjust oven controls, monitor oil levels and perform prescribed checks to ensure the final product meets quality indicators, according to specific formulas. This role is also required to follow all safety regulations, ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.

You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Check bake weight, oiled weight, seasoned weight (if applicable), and product dimensions every 15 minutes.
  • Conduct moisture checks every 30 minutes.
  • Record all findings both on the oven check form and in Infinity QS.
  • Notify the Crew Lead immediately if any difficulties arise in meeting product specifications (e.g., high moisture levels).
  • Communicate with the previous and following shifts about issues from the previous shift, upcoming changeovers, and any other pertinent information.
Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent role on 2nd shift, which operates from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday through Friday. Shift differential included. The wage range for this position is $24.88-$25.14 per hour, with $24.88 as the starting rate and $25.14 as the full rate. This posting is for a newly created role that is not currently vacant.

About You:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
  • The Oven Operator must have a keen eye for detail to accurately check bake weight, moisture levels, product dimensions, and other specifications at regular intervals. Attention to detail is also crucial for recording findings, conducting moisture checks, and ensuring proper stacking and cleanliness of the ovens.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use the equipment, tools, and computer systems required to perform the job, to work in a hot (Temp range: 70° to 90° F indoor) and noisy environment.
