Job description

We are seeking an experienced Ovation (High-Net-Worth) Claims Specialist.

What you’ll do:
  1. Support Ovation Claims, focusing mostly on Property line of claims with some Automobile claims as may be required.
  2. Assess structural repair and emergency mitigation damages.
  3. Provide reliable assurance of an effective control environment, focusing on the scope, repair, quality and customer experience of the program.
  4. Conduct reviews and assist in conducting claims studies aimed at reducing total claims costs and increasing efficiencies while maintaining a high level of outstanding customer service.
  5. Provide service within their region and others when required, while leveraging best practice and expertise in Xactware.
  6. Handle assigned claims and act as a resource for shared Ovation Claims resources across Canada on claims handling and coverage.
  7. Read and interpret scopes and estimates from contractors, provide meaningful feedback and establish actioning as required.
  8. Train team members and may assist with Open/Closed file reviews.
  9. Support the CAT team as needed, to coordinate response for Ovation customers and brokers.
  10. Liaise with Ovation UW and Risk Management to spot trends and identify risks.
  11. Work closely and in collaboration with Anti-Fraud on any suspected Ovation Fraud claim.
  12. Establish relations with both our internal and external adjusting partners and vendor database.
What you’ll bring:
  1. Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior position handling property loss.
  2. Past experience adjusting Auto PD claims across Canada.
  3. Post Secondary education or working toward completion of the Insurance Institute program (CIP / FCIP).
  4. Proven track record of handling large loss (> $150K).
  5. Experience reviewing estimates using Xactimate software.
  6. Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills to handle high-profile clients and partners.
  7. Solid understanding of claims adjusting practices.
  8. Bilingualism in a second language and adjusting licenses for Quebec and/or Atlantic provinces will be considered an asset.
What you’ll get:
  1. The salary band for this position ranges from $65,500 to $95,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
