Lookout Housing and Health Society is seeking an Outreach Worker to support adults facing housing instability, addictions and mental health challenges. The role, based in New Westminster, involves direct client assistance, advocacy and coordination with services, under a union Collective Agreement.
The position requires respirator fit testing and adherence to WorkSafeBC standards; duties include crisis intervention, case management and occasional driving.

Shift times will be 0800 - 1600 Hours
Shifts are 7.5 hours in length
Days of rest shall be consecutive. Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice
Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews
$33.49 - 35.31 depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)
The Outreach Worker reports to the Designated Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. Outreach workers provide a variety of support, direction, assistance and advocacy services to clients including, but not limited to, those facing challenges with stable housing, addictions, mental health, HIV etc. The Outreach Worker provides support and advocacy for treatment and follow up services for those who do not adequately utilize needed services.
This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
