Qualifications

As a Outpost Technician, you will prepare locomotive and coach equipment for dispatch into passenger rail service and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/mechanical problems. You should be a role model for punctuality, a team player, and demonstrate organizational commitment and awareness. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in a 24/7 environment, following all safety procedures. Technical skills/knowledge

  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical power and control systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and maintenance manuals
  • Proficiency in using computers and control systems
  • Experience with DVM, amp clamp-on meter, megohmmeter, oscilloscope, power tools, and hand tools
  • Perform scheduled inspections and unscheduled repairs, including component replacements on coaches/locomotives
  • Complete interior and exterior inspections of coaches, including all subsystems and safety equipment
  • Fault finding and repair of equipment
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • Willingness to travel to outpost locations for repairs and troubleshooting
