Rotation/Shifts

Days and weekends 8 hour shifts (06:00-14:00, 07:00-15:00, 9:00-17:00).

Basic Requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12);
  • Successful completion of TOH Medical Terminology Self-Directed Learning Program or certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution;
  • Six (6) months recent clerical experience, or successful completion of TOH Pathway to Clerical Role Program;
  • Data Entry (4000 keystrokes/hour);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.
