Job summary

Westview Orthodontics in North Vancouver, BC, is seeking an enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant to join our thriving practice. You will support the orthodontists through all stages of care and ensure compassionate patient experiences.

We offer a 32-hour workweek (Mon–Thu), a $1000 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including extended health coverage and a health spending account. Complementary orthodontic treatment for you and your immediate family is provided.

Qualifications

• Licensed Dental Assistant licensed with BCCOHP (British Columbia) and active license.
• 1+ years of experience as a Licensed Dental Assistant.
• Completion of the Orthodontics Module.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written.
• Strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Keen attention to detail and time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; dental software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures such as direct bond bracket procedures, arch wire and appliance adjustments, and aligner appointments.
• Providing all aspects of clinical patient care in a professional, efficient, and caring manner.
• Sterilization procedures, setting up the operatories, taking x-rays, photos, and intraoral scans.
• Building positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
• Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
• Provide patient instruction/education.
• Provide reports to parents/guardians.
• Ability to perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the practice.
