Job summary

Associated Engineering seeks an experienced Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead to build and sustain a company-wide change capability and enable adoption of major business and technology changes.

This senior individual-contributor role partners with Digital Services and People & Culture, focusing on people-side change, stakeholder engagement, readiness, communications, training, and measurement across AE’s enterprise initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience supporting organizational change, business transformation, or related disciplines.
  • Prosci certification or equivalent formal change management training preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide change across multiple stakeholders and technology-enabled change.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers OCM strategies, plans, templates, tools, and playbooks for enterprise changes and embeds them into initiative intake and delivery.
  • Develops change and communications strategies including audience analysis, messages, channels, and sponsor communications.
  • Conducts stakeholder impact, readiness, adoption, and resistance assessments to define readiness criteria.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to sponsors, managers, and project teams on integrating OCM into projects.
  • Supports governance with visibility into adoption risks, readiness gaps, and communications needs.
  • Leads or co-leads OCM workstreams and coordinates internal and external OCM resources.

The Opportunity

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead is responsible for building and sustaining Associated Engineering’s company-wide change capability and enabling successful adoption of significant business, process, technology, operating model, and organizational changes.

The role owns the people side of change for in-scope initiatives by assessing impacts, engaging stakeholders, developing change and communications strategies, coordinating training and readiness, managing resistance, and measuring adoption. The role is intentionally company-wide and is not tied to a single platform.

This is a senior individual-contributor role that leads through change networks, sponsors, and influence rather than direct reports. It works in close partnership with Digital Services on technology-enabled change and with the People & Culture Function on organizational change, role clarity, and implementation of people programs.

What You’ll Do
  • Develops and deliver and maintains right-sized OCM strategies, plans, templates, tools, and playbooks for enterprise, process, organizational, and technology-enabled change, and embeds them into initiative intake, project delivery, and sustainment.
  • Develops and deliver change and communications strategies for in-scope initiatives, covering audience analysis, key messages, communication cadence and channels, sponsor and leader communications, desired behaviours, and calls to action.
  • Conducts stakeholder, change impact, readiness, adoption, and resistance assessments to identify affected groups, adoption barriers, and readiness gaps, and defines readiness criteria used at key points across the project, implementation, and sustainment lifecycle.
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and practical OCM support to sponsors, managers, project teams, and change networks, including when to involve OCM, how to integrate it into project work, and how to support stakeholders through change.
  • Supports AE's enterprise and Digital Services strategies by embedding OCM into initiative intake, project initiation, stakeholder engagement, process design, operating model impact assessment, communications, training, readiness, implementation, reinforcement, and sustainment activities.
  • Supports governance by providing visibility into adoption risks, readiness gaps, stakeholder impacts, role or responsibility impacts, communications needs, and business readiness decisions before implementation and during sustainment.
  • Leads or co-leads OCM workstreams and coordinates assigned change, communications, training, and external OCM resources as required by the initiative.
  • Identifies people-side risks such as resistance, role-clarity concerns, process mismatches, and knowledge gaps, routes them to accountable owners with practical mitigation recommendations, and escalates unresolved adoption risks, readiness gaps, and resource constraints through the appropriate governance, sponsor, PMO, or People & Culture channels.
Does this sound like you?
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Education, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Prosci certification, Change Management certification, or equivalent formal change management training is preferred.
  • Project management, adult learning, communications, business analysis, organizational design, facilitation, or leadership development training is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting organizational change, business transformation, technology adoption, enterprise systems implementation, operating model change, communications, training, stakeholder engagement, or related disciplines.
  • Experience applying structured change management approaches, including stakeholder analysis, change impact assessment, readiness assessment, communications strategy, sponsor support, training coordination, resistance management, reinforcement, and adoption measurement.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide change across multiple stakeholder groups; experience with technology-enabled change, business process redesign, organizational change, ERP sustainment, PMO, or operational support environments is an asset.
  • Experience developing targeted communications plans, leader toolkits, key messages, FAQs, briefing materials, training support materials, and adoption or readiness reporting.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, sponsors, managers, front-line employees, project teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience building or coordinating change networks, champions networks, super-user communities, or business advocate groups is an asset.
