Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. is seeking a dedicated team member to ensure safe and efficient operation of lifting equipment and oversee daily inspections. You will verify incoming materials, apply stock tags, and load materials against pick lists while updating inventory locations.

The role includes packaging ASIS products, staging for processing, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Responsibilities extend to transferring material, preserving stored products, generating reports, and addressing

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and able to work as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safe and efficient operation of all lifting equipment
  • Performs daily inspection on lifting equipment prior to start up
  • Receive/verify material against incoming BOL and apply stock tags
  • Load material against a pick list – scanning product tags
  • Updates inventory material locations
  • Locates, generate and package ASIS products and applies finish good tags
  • Stage material for processing
  • Transfer material within the building as required
  • Ensures the safe preservation of product stored inside / outside the building
  • Ensures all necessary reports have been completed
  • Ensures non-conforming product / damaged equipment is brought forth to the Shipping / Receiving Department or Production Supervisor for disposition
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the work area
  • Take part and initiate continuous improvement efforts
  • Trains new employees as required
  • Other duties as assigned by Management or Production Supervisor

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
Tools & Equipment
  • Remote Cranes and Booms (qualified), Lift truck (qualified) Side Loader (qualified), Measuring and Computer Equipment (scanner / D365), Wood Saws, Nail Gun, Banding Equipment and Tensioners, Magnets

  • Includes but not limited to ferrous and non-ferrous products extrusions and long products.

Education and Qualifications
  • High School diploma required or equivalent work experience.
  • Effective time management skills, able to work as a member of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Drive, determination and ability to work both independently with little direction and as part of a team.

The base pay for this position is $23.17/hour (CAD). This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive plan. Incentive awards, if any, are based on business and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
