HealthOne in Toronto is seeking a hands-on Optical Practice Lead to oversee daily operations at a single-location clinic. You will manage team, workflows, and patient experience on the floor.

The role reports to the Regional Manager and requires 2–4 years in optical retail or clinical settings, with strong communication, inventory, and scheduling skills. The position is based at The Well, Toronto, with evenings and weekend shifts expected.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in optical retail or clinical environment.
  • Lead, senior, or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with optical dispensing, frame product knowledge, and contact lens categories.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day clinic operations at a single location.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, patient-ready clinic.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures including cash reconciliation and POS accuracy.
  • Identify operational issues and surface them to the Regional Manager with proposed solutions.
  • Support implementation of operational changes and process improvements as directed.
  • Coordinate and manage daily scheduling for a small team of up to five staff.
  • Onboard and train new team members; provide regular coaching and feedback.
  • Escalate HR or performance concerns to the Regional Manager in a timely and documented manner.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication and leadership by example.
  • Deliver sales initiatives and promotions as directed by the Regional Manager.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and maintain inventory records for frames, lenses, and supplies.
  • Ensure product levels are maintained on site to meet patient needs.
  • Flag low stock, discrepancies, or reorder needs for approval.
  • Maintain organized displays and receive/process incoming orders.
  • Provide a welcoming, professional experience for every patient.

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on and organized Optical Practice Lead to support the day-to-day operations of our optical clinic at [Location]. This is a single-site, execution-focused role built for someone who is comfortable on the floor, takes ownership of their team, and brings consistency and follow-through to everything they do.

This role works closely with and reports directly to the Regional Manager.The Practice Lead is responsible for translating direction into daily execution and ensuring the clinic runs smoothly, the team is supported, and patients leave with a great experience.

Responsibilities:

Daily Clinic Operations

  • Run day-to-day clinic operationsatasingle location, ensuring consistent execution of established workflows and service standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinicenvironment atall times
  • Manage opening and closing procedures including cash reconciliation and POS accuracy
  • Identifyoperationalissues and surface them to the Regional Manager with proposed solutions
  • Support the implementation of operational changes and process improvements as directed

Team Coordination and Scheduling

  • Coordinate and manage daily scheduling for a small team of up to five staff members
  • Support onboarding and day-to-day training of new team members in clinic procedures and service standards
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to support individual performance and team consistency
  • Escalate HR or performance concerns to the Regional Manager inatimelyanddocumented manner
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication, follow-through, and leading by example

Sales Support and Performance Tracking

  • Support the team in delivering a consultative, needs-based experience that naturally drives sales outcomes
  • Monitor and track daily sales activity and flag trends or concerns to the Regional Manager
  • Reinforce selling behaviors and service standards through in-the-moment coaching on the floor
  • Assistinimplementing sales initiatives and promotions as directed by the Regional Manager

Inventory and Product Management

  • Conduct regular stock counts andmaintainaccurateinventory records for frames, contact lenses, and optical supplies
  • Ensureappropriate productlevels aremaintainedon site to meet patient needs without over-ordering
  • Flag low stock, discrepancies, or reorder needs to the Regional Manager for approval and action
  • Keep frame displays and product areas organized, well-stocked, and visually tidy
  • Receive and process incoming product orders accurately
  • Deliver a consistent, welcoming, and professional experience for every patient who walks through the door
  • Handle day-to-day patient questions and concerns directly, resolving issues at the clinic level where appropriate
  • Escalate complex or unresolved patient concerns to the Regional Manager
  • Support recall outreach and appointment follow-up as part of regular clinic operations

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in an optical retail or clinical environment
  • Previousexperiencein a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity is an asset
  • Familiarity with optical dispensing, frame product knowledge, and contact lens categories
  • Experience with inventory tracking and day-to-day clinic or retail operations
  • Comfortable with scheduling tools and clinic software (Jane App experience is an asset)
  • Strongcommunicationskillsand a patient-first approach to service
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a busy clinic setting
  • Registered Optician is an asset but norequired

Compensation:

  • $28–$32 per hour, with a range of $32–$37 per hour for the Optical Lead position.
