Job summary

Northern Lights Optometry is expanding its team in Whitehorse, Yukon. We seek an Optical Dispensary Assistant who greets patients, helps them choose eyewear, and assists with dispensing and repairs. Training is provided, no optical experience is required. The role offers a weekday schedule in a supportive, community-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Must be consistently reliable and punctual.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

We’ll provide all the training you need!

Responsibilities include:

• Greet and assist patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Assisting patients with selecting eyewear and lenses to suit their needs
• Ordering, adjusting and dispensing eyewear as well as performing eyeglass repairs
• Manage patient records and eyewear orders
• Handle phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
• Will be involved in daily business transactions
• Assist with general office tasks
• Medical Ophthalmic Imaging

What We’re Looking For:

• We are seeking someone who takes pride in being consistently reliable and punctual
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with computers and cash transactions is an asset
• Previous experience in retail or in an optical setting is an asset but not mandatory
• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can also work independently
