Job summary

FYidoctors Toronto - Yonge St is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team on a part-time basis (20-29 hours per week). You will greet patients, help with frame selection, interpret prescriptions, and ensure a superb eyewear experience in a collaborative clinic.

Responsibilities include frame measurements, scheduling, billing, and assisting with contact lens fittings. Prior optical or retail experience is a plus; strong communication and tech skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous optical or retail experience required or asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology, especially MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient experiences.

• Take frame and facial measurements for proper fit and adjustments.

• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver excellent customer service for a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as needed.

Our FYidoctors Toronto - Yonge St clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you'll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a part-time role working 20-29 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You'll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
