Job summary

FYidoctors, London clinic, part of FYihealth group, seeks an Optical Associate to join the team on a full-time, fixed-term basis until June 2027. The role is 30-40 hours per week and operates Monday to Friday.

Ideal candidates have strong retail customer service experience; optical background is a plus. You will welcome patients, educate on eyewear, take measurements, handle lens orders, and manage scheduling and billing.

Qualifications

• Great retail customer service experience is required.
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset.
• Passionate about customer service.
• High comfort with technology and computers.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients to the clinic and provide exceptional customer service.
• Educate clients about eyewear choices and value/quality.
• Inform patients about advances in corrective eyewear and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions written by an optometrist.
• Take frame and facial measurements and perform repairs/adjustments as needed.
• Place contact lens orders and assist with fittings.
• Communicate with patients in person, by phone and by email.
• Bill patients and third parties; manage appointments and billing.

Our FYidoctors - London - Sunningdaleclinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

This position is a full-time, fixed-term role working 30-40 hours per week, until June 2027.Our clinic is open Monday to Friday.

You will play a critical role within FYidoctors and are crucial to our success by delivering world-class service to our patients. You'll often be the first point of contact with the public, so you must bring with you your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. With your help, we'll continue to have a positive impact on our current patients' health and well-being, as well as the patients we haven't yet met.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
• Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
• Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assisting with the selection of frames to suit your client's aesthetic and performance needs
• Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
• Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments to returning patients'
• Placing Contact Lens orders and assisting with fittings
• Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
• Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
• Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments

What Do You Bring?

• Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environmentpreferred
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset

• A high level of comfort using technology and computers
• A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
