FYidoctors Markham clinic is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team. You will welcome patients, explain eyewear options, and assist with frame choices while interpreting prescriptions from the optometrist.

This full-time role involves measuring frames, coordinating appointments, performing patient billing, and supporting contact lens fittings. A proactive, customer-first mindset and collaborative spirit are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-focused roles in optical or retail is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients.
• Collaborative, adaptable, proactive team player with growth mindset.
• Proficiency with computers including MS Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset.

Job description

Our FYidoctors Markhamclinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a full-time role working30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered an asset
