Job summary

FYidoctors, a division of FYihealth group, is seeking an Optical Associate for our Grimsby clinic. The role is full-time, 30-40 hours per week, with the clinic open Monday to Saturday, delivering exceptional eye care and eyewear experiences.

You will greet patients, help them select frames, take measurements, assist with insurance billing, and support optical prescriptions under the optometrist guidance. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is asset.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment. This position is a full-time role working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do
