Job summary

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is hiring an Operator, Packaging. You will operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment in a clean, safe plant environment, reporting to the Packaging Supervisor.

The role requires a secondary diploma, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a team or independently. The position offers full-time, permanent status, with a Wednesday–Friday 6:00pm–6:00am or 5:00pm–5:00am shift, and starting pay of $27.25/hour with increases to around $30.25/hour in the

  • Experience in food manufacturing or packaging is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to GMP, QA, and HACCP standards to ensure quality and sanitation.
  • Follow SOPs to maintain highest product quality.
  • Operate and monitor packaging equipment for efficiency and reliability.
  • Communicate with Leadhand and Supervisor to optimize operations.
  • Transport materials and products safely around the plant.
  • Report equipment problems promptly and maintain safe work conditions.
  • Occasional shifts beyond regular hours may be required.

Overview of the role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Operator, Packaging for an existing opportunity within our organization. Reporting to the Supervisor, Packaging, the Packaging Operators will be responsible for the essential operation and troubleshooting of Packaging equipment

Wednesday to Friday 6:00pm-6:00am or 5:00pm-5:00am

Salary

$27.25/hour
There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $30.25/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter
  • Ensures quality and sanitation standards are met by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Assurance, and HACCP
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
  • Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resources
  • Communicates with the Leadhand/Back up Lead hand and Packaging Supervisor to monitor and maximize operational efficiencies
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
  • Report urgent equipment problems in a timely manner
  • Ensures that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; adhere to safe work procedures (rotations, hazard reporting)
  • Flexibility to work shifts outside the normal shift when required
  • Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.'s quality standards;
  • Other duties as assigned
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications
  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in food manufacturing or packaging, preferably dairy manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated strong documentation and record keeping
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative and work well under pressure
