Job summary

Saputo Inc. is hiring an Operator, Packaging at our Ontario plant. You will help operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment in a clean, safe environment while following GMP and HACCP guidelines.

You will report to the Packaging Supervisor and contribute to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced dairy operations setting. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and work well independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and sanitation standards per Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP.
  • Follow SOPs to maintain high-quality products.
  • Operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicate with supervisors to monitor and improve operations.
  • Move raw materials and finished products safely throughout the plant.

Overview of the role :

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Operator, Packaging for an existing opportunity within our organization. You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, Packaging, the Packaging Operators will be responsible for the essential operation and troubleshooting of Packaging equipment

Status:

Full-Time, Permanent

Shift:

Wednesday to Friday 6:00pm–6:00am or 5:00pm-5:00am

Salary:

$27.25/hour

There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $30.25/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter:
  • Ensures quality and sanitation standards are met by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Assurance, and HACCP
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
  • Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resources
  • Communicates with the Leadhand/Back up Lead hand and Packaging Supervisor to monitor and maximize operational efficiencies
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
  • Report urgent equipment problems in a timely manner
  • Ensures that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; adhere to safe work procedures (rotations, hazard reporting)
  • Flexibility to work shifts outside the normal shift when require
  • Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;
  • Other duties as assigned
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in food manufacturing or packaging, preferably dairy manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated strong documentation and record keeping
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative and work well under pressure
