Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a hands-on Die-Cut Operator to support the die-cutting line. You will assist with machine operation, stack and sort sheets, feed products, and monitor performance to ensure quality and efficiency.

Training is provided, with opportunities to cover shifts as needed. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation of the die-cutting machine.
• Stack cardboard sheets arriving from printing onto pallets.
• Sort printed cardboard sheets before loading into the die-cutter.
• Feed products into the die-cutter using a hydraulic hand jack.
• Monitor the die-cutter to ensure the job runs properly.
• Cover breaks, vacations, and call-offs by running the die-cutter (training provided).
• Change dies.
• Remove scrap from the die-cutter.
• Perform other duties as required.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the operation of the die-cutting machine.
• Stacking cardboard sheets when they arrive from the printing department onto pallets.
• Required to sort various sheets of printed cardboard prior to loading them into the die-cutter.
• Feeding of products into the die-cutter using a hydraulic hand jack.
• Responsible for monitoring the die-cutter to ensure the job is running properly.
• Responsible for running the die-cutter to cover for breaks, vacations, and call-offs (all training provided)
• Changing dies.
• Removal of scrap product exuded from the die-cutter.
• All other duties as required.

• Supports GPI safety programs and training.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following all standards and procedures.
• Ensure work area is clean and free of obstacles.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (12 hours).
• Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
• Freqent climbing, stooping, bending, overhead reaching, kneeling and crouching.
• Frequent lifting/moving (up to 20 lbs.) and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Work Enviroment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequent exposure to noise, vibration (mandatory hearing protecton provided by the company).
• Fluctuating temperatures.

Shifts

• Successful candidates must be able work all shifts, including but not limited to: days, afternoons, evenings, 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and holidays (per the CBA), without exception, as required and scheduled in a 24/7 continuous operation. Candidates not able to work all shifts will not be considered for the role.
