Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Mississauga is hiring for an operator to glue and assemble packaging. You will run folding/gluing equipment, feed the gluer, and assist on make-readies while keeping accurate production records.

You must follow safety policies, participate in SQF-related activities, and work in a team to ensure product quality and production efficiency. On-the-job training and opportunities for growth are provided.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or acceptable experience.
  • On-the-job related experience required.
  • Follows safety policies and government legislation (e.g. OHSA).
  • Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively.
  • Capable of heavy lifting and maintaining safety.

Responsibilities

  • Adjusts and runs the gluing machine.
  • Operates folding/gluing equipment and feeds gluer.
  • Assists on make-readies and maintains production records.
  • Ensures product quality and production efficiency.
  • Communicates information to facilitate production flow.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and general clean-up.
  • Attends training and supports other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to SQF procedures and supports safe quality foods.
  • Lead change and uphold safety guidelines.

Position Description
  • Adjusts and runs the gluing machine
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for operation of folding/gluing equipment
  • Feeds Gluer
  • Assist on make-readies
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping, production sheets.
  • Responsible for quality of product and efficiency of production.
  • Communicates relevant information to facilitate the flow of production.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform make ready’s on all straight line and autobottom boxes
  • General clean up.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in ongoing training.
  • Not limited to and including other duties as assigned.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Education And Experience Required
  • Grade 12 or acceptable experience.
  • On-the-job related experience required.
Skills And Physical Requirement
  • Employees must be both familiar and able to adhere to company safety policies and government legislation (i.e. Occupational Health and Safety Act).

Pay Range: $28.71 per hour - $31.63 per hour
