Job summary

BRAYA is seeking an Operations Shift Supervisor/Power Engineer to oversee daily plant activities, ensuring safe, compliant operation across process units and utilities. You will supervise technicians, coordinate with contractors, and lead incident response and continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate should have an Engineering Technology Diploma and a Power Engineering certificate, with a plan to upgrade to 2nd class, plus 5 years of supervisory experience and a strong safety record.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Technology Diploma, Power Engineering Certificate 2nd class or a 3rd class ticket with a commitment to achieve a 2nd class in a reasonable time frame.
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience (Supervisory experience would be an asset)
  • Must pass pre-employment medical
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees
  • Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
  • Exemplary record in Health, Safety, and Environment is essential
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy (an asset), i.e., Microsoft Office and Maximo or SAP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of refinery operations or Industrial background

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall supervision to Renewable Fuels operations team to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of various process units and utilities
  • Ensure employees are in compliance with all Company policies/procedures and safety regulations
  • Supervise, coordinate, and plan activities for your team, and work with contractors
  • Preparing and entering data into various information systems (i.e., work order history, employee time details, monthly reports, discipline, etc.)
  • Developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment within the department
  • Reviewing employee’s performance and providing appropriate feedback and coaching
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ensure equipment is prepared for maintenance as required
  • Coordinate Operation activities with NARL Logistics

Operations Shift Supervisor/Power Engineer:

The Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operational activities within the plant during their assigned shift. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all units and supervises the Operations Technicians and related personnel and provides leadership, guidance, and direction to operations personnel on shift. The Shift Supervisor is a key leader in maintaining operational integrity, responding to incidents, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly lifts/moves object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbs are required.
  • Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending, and twisting; regular standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g. Ladders/scaffolding).
  • Work environments can present exposure to loud noises or environmental hazards.
