Responsibilities

As a team member of the Operations Readiness (OR) group, you will help the team develop, track and steward the OR deliverables for various projects implemented in IOL Upstream assets. You will be guided by experienced colleagues within the OR, Project and Operations teams, and you are encouraged to bring creative and innovative ideas to improve existing work processes to be more cost effective and efficient.

  • Ensure availability of and coordinate input from ops/maint/tech/other services resources to support project activities in all Stages/Gates/Checkpoints of the project
  • Ensure readiness for successful start-up of a facility by stewarding OR deliverables at all stages
  • Ensure smooth transition of a completed project into operations
  • Create, maintain, update OR deliverables in Smartsheet; develop meaningful dashboards, insights, and reports to enable the OR team to steward OR goals for all projects
  • Provide input to Early design basis and Project planning basis in development planning stage
  • Coordinate operations and maintenance input into Engineering Design reviews, Operability, reliability and life-cycle maintenance reviews, Staffing and Opex estimates
  • Coordinate with support groups (HR, Tax, Law, SSHE, Commercial) for applicable considerations in the new facility
  • Coordinate development of Operating and Maintenance Procedures and training, as per identified competency requirements
  • Ensure Maintenance plans build-up (Criticality Assessments, Equipment Strategies, Maint plans) and SPID (Spare parts identification and procurement) are completed prior to start up. Coordinate with BTC as required by CMMS/SPID Advisors to progress the deliverables
  • Apply lessons learned from past projects
About you

Skills and Qualifications

Engineering undergraduate degree student in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Mining/Industrial discipline (preference for students in final year of degree)

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Preference for experience/skills in project management tools like Smartsheets, Tableau and all MS applications
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and influence decisions
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and eager to learn; good presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel to field sites (Cold Lake, Kearl etc.) on company business

Work term: 12, 16, 20 Months
