Job summary

RTS is seeking an Operations & Project Delivery Manager in Etobicoke, Canada to lead project execution across utility, industrial automation and water & wastewater sectors. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule and budget, and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality results.

The ideal candidate has a electrical engineering or project management background, PMP certification, 5 years in relevant projects, and hands-on knowledge of instrumentation/controls,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience with Industrial Automation, Water/Waste Water, or Utility projects.
  • Strong project management skills with large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of municipal instrumentation/controls, protection & control technology (PCT), and Industrial automation systems.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • PMP certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with ISO9001:2015 standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks while ensuring efficient execution.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Effective communication of technical and strategic information.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful execution of Utility, Industrial Automation and Water & Wastewater projects while meeting customer timelines and expectations.
  • Review contract documents and specifications to determine project scope, timeline, and resource requirements.
  • Assist in formulating RTS’s project proposals and estimates when required.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings and define clear deliverables, milestones, and responsibilities.
  • Assign tasks and set deadlines for production team members to ensure seamless execution.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Optimize resources to maximize monthly deliverables and achieve forecasted revenue targets.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope via change orders, anticipate risks, and implement contingency plans.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas of improvement and drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain team morale and promote a culture of collaboration, integrity, and customer service.
  • Identify and escalate project issues in a timely manner while ensuring effective resolution.
  • Attend site meetings, provide technical guidance, and manage shop personnel as needed.
  • Identify business development opportunities, including change orders and additional service offerings.
  • Maintain project documentation accuracy and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Job Summary:
TheOperations & Project Delivery Manager will directly oversee or execute project delivery,ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highestquality standards. This role involves leading cross-functional teams (controlpanel fabrication shop, instrument suppliers, PLC/SCADA programmers, etc),managing customer expectations, and optimizing RTS resources to maximizeoperational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills,technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in projectexecution and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
