Job description

SAXX is looking for individuals who can adapt and evolve to the needs of our business. The Operations Manager, Supply Chain (12-month contract) will play an essential role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across all touch points and thrive in a dynamic environment where innovation and customer-centricity is paramount. This is a 12-month contract role operating in a hybrid environment based in Vancouver and may require occasional business travel.

Reporting to the Vice President Global Logistics, this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the execution of our tariff risk mitigation strategies across all business streams, ensuring that contracts, purchasing, and inventory management practices align with organizational priorities and comply with relevant regulations and corporate policies. In addition, this role will provide coverage for the execution of warehousing and distribution logistics functions to ensure our products are delivered in full and on time (DIFOT) to customers while managing service level agreements (SLAs) and operating costs within our warehousing and distribution network inclusive of product returns.

This is a hands-on position which will require the application of strategic thinking and the execution of day-to-day operations. We work in a fast-paced environment, rolling up our sleeves to build something bigger than ourselves. You must be comfortable working within a small and dynamic team, be able to communicate effectively, juggle multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, identify, and communicate risk, and deliver against deadlines. More importantly, you need to be able to integrate fun as a way of being and working, aka don’t take yourself too seriously.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supports the development and deployment of our tariff risk mitigation and warehousing and distribution strategy partnering closely with internal stakeholders (Product, Planning, Operations, Sales, IT and Finance) and external stakeholders to optimize end to end supply chain processes in support of meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
  • Support the design and build of a robust tariff compliance program infrastructure and establish a comprehensive set of policies, procedures, training programs, and monitoring systems.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to all relevant import and export regulations, including identifying applicable laws, conducting risk assessments, developing clear guidelines.
  • Develop strategies and processes to streamline cross-border operations and reduce delays.
  • Support the management of the logistics distribution expense P&L/Budget including invoicing, accrual management, P&L analysis and margin improvement.
  • Strategically and constantly monitors the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks and recommends relevant tactics and strategies.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; proactive nature and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide sufficient influence to achieve success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics or a related field OR experience in a similar position
  • A minimum of 3 years team management experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a supply chain, operations, logistic or warehouse distribution environment
  • Broad understanding of the Supply Chain end-to-end, including the tools and processes associated with Integrated Business Planning, Order Fulfillment, Sales & Operational Planning and interaction with Logistics providers (internal and 3rd party)
  • Thorough understanding of 3PL warehousing and fulfillment operations and commercial relationships
  • Experience in operating in retail and an omni channel (B2B and DTC) environment is an asset
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • A dynamic and positive personality with strong leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment; works well under pressure and results oriented

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000. The final aligned upon salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
