The Operations Manager will work in conjunction with the Construction and General Manager to supervise, hire, and train employees/crews, manage quality assurance programs, and strategize process improvements.

Working onsite and in the field, this person will be a leader, working with internal and external stakeholders, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for maintaining and increasing the efficiency of the business and will also bring with them critical thinking skills, trouble shooting abilities and a strong business mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Sub-Contractor Management: Collaborate with the Construction Manager to source, evaluate, and manage sub-contractors, ensuring performance aligns with project needs and requirements.
  • Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with builders’ supervisors and team members regarding job site requirements, changes, and conditions.
  • Service & Quality Assurance: Oversee service operations, resolve issues, and implement quality assurance protocols for efficient, timely project delivery.
  • Site & Crew Oversight: Conduct site visits for inspections, resolve on-site issues, and manage scope and specifications.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate incoming work, monitor production status, manage supplier relations, and ensure availability of materials and trades.
  • Sales & Client Relations: Generate new sales leads, maintain client relationships, and address client concerns on scope, pricing, and project timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Support, lead, and motivate the team, manage staffing needs, and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Market & Procurement Insight: Maintain market knowledge, oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and tools, and advise on competitor and market trends.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Adhere to health, safety, and respectful workplace policies, maintain company documentation, and uphold confidentiality and company values.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration or related field

Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle
  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a work station, working on a computer and driving to and from job sites in various road conditions.

Experience:

  • 5+ years proven experience in an operations management position
  • Construction industry experience a must

Skills:

  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with team members, builders, clients, and vendors.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Ability to address on-site issues, resolve conflicts, and manage emergencies effectively.
  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting, pricing strategies, invoice approvals, and cost management.
  • Adaptability and Strategic Thinking: Capacity to pivot between operational and strategic objectives, pursuing company goals while handling day-to-day challenges.
  • Organizational and Time Management: Strong organizational skills to handle scheduling, oversee service operations, and ensure timely project completion.

Base Salary:$80,000-$100,000 per year

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Full benefits package

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8AM – 5PM

Additional Notes:

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
