Our client is looking for an integral hire for a respected private family. Located on an elegant country property south of Calgary, they are seeking a(Live-In)Assistant Estate Managerto support the maintenance and managementof the property. The Assistant Estate Manager will be residing on the estate on a separate portion of the land.

Reporting to the Estate Manager, this hire will be collaborating with different members of the team and will be performing various tasks to coordinate and organize the estate’s day-to-day operations.The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, organized, a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Conducting daily checks, maintenance, and general upkeep of multiple properties
  • Ensuring all properties are kept in impeccable condition
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing specialist contractors and service providers as needed
  • Responding as first point ofcontactfor visitors to the property
  • Being on-call for after-hours maintenance support and alarm responses
  • Assisting with the planning, budgeting, and executing of projects and events
  • Supporting family functions and events (set-up, assisting the serving team, post-event clean up, etc.)
  • Cleaning, fueling, maintaining, and occasionally driving vehicles
  • Supervising and providing occasional direction to gardeners/groundskeepers and other team members
  • Ad hoc support for family members and other team member/department requests related to errands
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Post-secondary in related area of focus considered an asset

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is a must
  • Open availability and willingness tolive on the property full time
  • First aid certification is considered an asset (training can be provided if not available)
  • Valid passport is considered an asset (some travel may be required)
  • Must be comfortable around dogs
  • Some heavy lifting may be required (up to 50 – 70 pounds)
  • Successfully complete a criminal and credit background check
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in property management and maintenance required
  • Ideally in a luxury setting
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience required
  • Project management experience an asset

Base Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 per year

Work Hours:

  • Full-time hours (with some paid overtime to be expected)
  • Daytime hours, may include after-hours emergency (on-call)therefore flexibility is required
