Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a regional operations leader to provide strategic direction for multiple sites in Northwestern Ontario, managing industrial services, waste transfer, and fleet operations. You will supervise ~37–46 staff across scheduling, repairs and emergency response, delivering daily updates to the Branch Manager.

Responsibilities include budgeting, financial oversight, safety compliance, and collaboration with business development on quotes and tenders.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years in leadership/managerial role within operations
  • Industrial operational experience preferred (chemicals, waste vehicles, pulp & paper/oil & gas)
  • Knowledge of CVOR requirements and MTO regulations
  • AZ/DZ driver’s license is an asset

  • Manage 46 CVOR service vehicles, waste vehicles and heavy machinery
  • Direct scheduling, workforce planning and emergency response dispatch

  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training verification and performance reviews

Job description

Provide strategic leadership and direct oversight for daily regional operations
Manage industrial services, liquid waste transfer, material processing, facility and truck repairs, and emergency response services
Manage day-to-day operations, scheduling, workforce planning, and emergency response dispatch
Provide daily operational updates to the Branch Manager
Conduct site visits before quoting and collaborate with business development on quote and tender packages
Monitor operational inventory levels with supervisors and procurement
Manage approximately 46 CVOR service vehicles, waste vehicles, heavy machinery, and regional properties
Develop annual budgets, review monthly financial statements, and optimize collections
Enforce EHS policies, safe work practices, permit conditions, the Highway Traffic Act, and the OH&S Act
Manage and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committees and regional safety meetings
Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; implement corrective actions
Direct, motivate, and mentor approximately 37 staff employees
Conduct annual performance reviews, Job Task Observations, and field-level hazard assessments
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training verification, vacation scheduling, disciplinary measures, and WSIB/claims management

Requirements
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Science, or a related field (post-secondary asset)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of experience in a leadership, managerial, or supervisory capacity within operations
  • Industrial operational experience preferred, including familiarity with chemical/chemical compatibilities, waste vehicle operation, or the pulp and paper/oil and gas sectors
  • Knowledge of MTO regulations and CVOR requirements
  • AZ/DZ driver's license is an asset
  • Proficient in Google Suite of Products, including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial control, and crisis-management capabilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
  • Ability to provide valid documentation confirming eligibility to work before the start date
