Job summary

ATCO Structures is seeking an Operations Manager for our La Prairie, QC location to lead modular rental space and fleet operations. You will supervise fleet servicing, facilities management, onsite/offsite construction, and contractor oversight, ensuring safe, efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.

This role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external partners from project initiation to client acceptance.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred, not mandatory.
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and verbal.
  • 5+ years in equipment servicing, construction, or project-based roles with budget duties.
  • Strong leadership and operational project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction, installation, dismantling, repair, and renovation projects from estimation through client acceptance.
  • Support the estimating process for site work, retrofitting, and service work.
  • Provide customer support and service call coordination for issues.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production timelines with schedules.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and WIP reports to ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain modular building fleet and yards, including remote locations; servicing, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure projects and service work are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Responsible for client site installation, construction support, dispatching, and transport coordination.
  • Conduct safety inspections and observations.
  • Understand client site nuances and project management plans.
  • Liaise with Contract Administration on service chargebacks and billing.

Our La Prairie, QC branch is on the lookout for a dynamic and strategic Operations Manager to drive excellence in our modular rental space and fleet operations. Under the direction of the General Manager - Ottawa & Quebec, the Operations Manager is responsible for supervising our rental fleet servicing program, facilities management, offsite and onsite construction works, and third-party contractor management. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors from project initiation to client acceptance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead construction, installation, dismantling, repair, and renovation projects from estimation through to client acceptance.

  • Support the estimating process for all site work, retrofitting, and service work.

  • Provide customer support and service call coordination for any issues.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production timelines with project schedules.

  • Monitor and create budgets, schedules, and work-in-progress reports to ensure project efficiency.

  • Accountable for maintaining modular building fleet and yards, including remote locations; servicing, inspections, chargebacks, winterization, repairs, maintenance, and modifications, etc. as pertains to the rental fleet.

  • Ensure projects and service work are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.

  • Responsible for client site installation and construction support, dispatching, and coordinating transportation.

  • Conduct safety inspections and observations.

  • Understand client site(s) nuances, restrictions, and project management plan.

  • Liaise with Contract Administration on service chargebacks and contract billing.

Job Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education, from a recognized accredited institution, in a related field is preferred, not mandatory.

  • Fluent in both English and French both written and verbal.

  • 5+ years of working experience in equipment servicing, construction, or a project-based role, including budgetary responsibilities.

  • Exceptional maintenance and operational project management.

  • Knowledge of building codes, particularly building codes that apply to relocatable structures across Ontario.

  • Experience executing construction projects, preferably in Ontario.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

  • Strategic mindset and the ability to think creatively to solve complex challenges.

  • Experience with Oracle is considered an asset.

  • Experience working in unionized environments and previous experience in the modular industry would be considered an asset.
