Adecco is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for a full-time permanent role with our private client based in Sudbury, ON. The ideal candidate must be able to work on-site. The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations, managing and overseeing compliance with Key Performance Indicators, influencing customer satisfaction, increasing division revenue, and overseeing operational effectiveness and quality.

The Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with contract
  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation
  • Plan, organize, and manage staff work to ensure organizational requirements are met
  • Implement schedule and policy changes
  • Oversee effective start-ups and shut-downs
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  • Work with Health & Safety team, in cooperation with government agencies, to investigate transportation accidents and incidents and improve safety procedures
  • Follow up on all manners of progressive discipline
  • Oversee and report on KPIs, deficiency lists, and customer satisfaction surveys
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to attract new candidates and ensure proper staffing levels
  • Plan and facilitate safety and drivers' meetings
  • Monitor spending and oversee divisional budget to ensure expenses align with approved budgets
  • Oversee payroll administration
  • Serve as the main point of contact for daily operations
  • Participate in quoting new business and ensure contract compliance
  • Oversee daily operational communication
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, increasing visibility within the community through participation in sponsored events

Mandatory requirements for the Operations Manager:

  • University or Post-Secondary Degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role in an operations environment
  • Experience in the Transportation Industry is an asset but not mandatory
  • Clean Drivers Abstract and clear Criminal Record Search
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a dynamic, high-demand environment with deadlines, handling confidential materials
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience facilitating group meetings
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education as required
