Location: Calgary, Alberta

Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 base + bonuses + growth incentives

THE ROLE:

RISE is not just a gym — it’s a multi-unit youth development ecosystem built on the pillars of basketball, education, performance, community, and culture.

With hundreds of athletes, thousands of visitors per week, and multiple business units (leagues, memberships, esports, coffee, retail, and education), RISE Calgary Central Sportsplex is a multi-million-dollar operation that must now shift from high-potential to high-performance.

We are hiring an Operations Manager who will own the day-to-day operations, build staff culture, implement systems, and drive performance across the entire facility. This leader will help transform RISE into a well-oiled machine, ready for scaling and duplication across other markets.

This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to grow with the company and eventually lead multiple locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Operational Oversight Across All Units:
  • Full accountability for daily operations across:
  • Basketball programs (RISE League, Club, Skills, JR.RISE)
  • Classroom & RISE Academy education sessions
  • RISE Playground (Esports Lounge)
  • BOOM Coffee shop
  • Retail & inventory
  • Front desk, booking, and customer service
  • Ensure each unit has clear workflows, schedules, responsibilities, and reporting
  • Set a standard of professionalism and operational excellence across the board
2. Team Development & Culture Building:
  • Lead and train all staff, ensuring they use internal systems (Hubspot, scheduling, booking, Dext, etc.)
  • Conduct weekly performance meetings with department leads
  • Build strong team morale, emphasizing communication, reliability, and shared purpose
  • Be present in the facility — visible, supportive, and respected
3. Sales, Membership & Customer Growth:
  • Oversee membership sales targets, seasonal program registration, and renewals
  • Track performance through dashboards and reports
  • Coordinate with marketing team to ensure conversion from leads to full registration
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience across every touchpoint
4. Execution of Systems & Clean-Up:
  • Audit every unit for inefficiencies, gaps, or underperformance — and fix them
  • Enforce SOPs, accountability loops, and daily reporting standards
  • Identify and clean up broken workflows, underutilized tools, and communication failures
  • Build dashboards and structured routines so the facility can run with or without you
5. Champion the Bigger Vision:
  • Understand that RISE is a multimillion-dollar brand in its growth stage
  • Communicate to staff and partners that RISE is more than just a gym — it’s a scalable platform built for impact and revenue
  • Bring professional insight into how world-class operations are built and scaled
  • Prepare this facility as the template for duplication across Western Canada
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years in operations or general management in high-volume, multi-unit environments (sports facilities, performance gyms, rec centers, or hospitality)
  • Proven experience managing teams, systems, and customer service in fast-paced settings
  • Obsessed with organization, process-building, and accountability
  • Hands-on leader who thrives in an on-the-floor environment
  • Passion for basketball, youth empowerment, and education
  • Proficiency in tools like Google Suite, POS systems, CRM (Hubspot or similar), scheduling software, and inventory tracking
COMPENSATION & GROWTH:
  • Base Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 (depending on experience)
