Job summary

BEST is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a large regional portfolio in Alberta, with strong P&L accountability and a high-caliber operations team. You will drive budgeting, cost control, and client satisfaction while shaping regional growth.

You will develop site leadership, build client relationships, participate in contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with BEST standards and OH&S requirements across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of multi-site operations leadership in a service environment.
• Experience in janitorial, facilities management or contract services.
• Strong understanding of income statements, forecasts and budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with staff, head office and clients.
• Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
• Willingness to respond to urgent business needs beyond regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers to hit productivity targets.
• Own region budgets: build forecasts, review P&Ls, and control costs to prevent leakage.
• Track site KPIs and translate data into actions on productivity and service quality.
• Build long-term client relationships and participate in contract negotiations.
• Hire, onboard and train site leadership and oversee onboarding across the region.
• Ensure locations are staffed, compliant with BEST standards and OH&S requirements.
• Plan succession and develop talent to enable regional growth.
• Act as liaison between head office and field, reporting on performance.
• Improve procedures and service systems in line with industry trends.

We’re looking for experienced Operations Managers to own a large regional portfolios in Alberta. This is a leadership role with real P&L accountability, a strong operational team behind you, and room to shape how your region grows.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach and develop Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers to hit monthly, quarterly and annual productivity and performance targets
• Own your region’s budgets: build quarterly and annual forecasts, review monthly P&Ls, and control costs to stop revenue leakage
• Track site KPIs and turn the data into action on productivity, client satisfaction and service quality
• Build long-term client relationships and take part in new contract negotiations
• Hire, onboard and train site leadership, and oversee new-hire training across your region
• Make sure every location is properly staffed, professionally managed and compliant with BEST standards, employment standards and OH&S requirements
• Plan succession and develop talent so your region is ready to grow
• Act as the link between head office and the field, putting company initiatives into practice and reporting on operational performance to senior leadership
• Improve procedures and service systems in line with industry trends

What You Bring

• 5+ years of multi-site operations leadership in a service environment, with direct responsibility for financials, budgets, safety and HR
• Experience in janitorial, facilities management, building services or a similar contract-services industry (strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
• A good read on income statements, forecasts and budgets, plus strong MS Office skills
• A servant-leadership style: you build teams that perform and stay
• Excellent written and verbal communication with staff, head office and clients
• The ability to analyze, prioritize, negotiate and deliver on strategic goals while priorities shift
• A business-related post-secondary degree
• A valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract
• Willingness to respond to urgent business needs outside regular hours
