Job description

Operations Manager-Building Materials

Our client, an industry leader in high-end building materials, is looking for an Operations Manager to join their growing team in Edmonton. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, continually working on improving the day-to-day processes while fostering the amazing culture that this organization is known for. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a proven record in operational management, process optimization, and team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish operational goals that align with company objectives, while formulating and approving policies and programs that drive efficiency, sustainability, and scalability while overseeing all aspects of the branch operations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and distribution, with the ability to streamline operations and minimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement streamlined processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.
  • Regularly report on performance to the President, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with finance to develop budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee the allocation of material, human and financial resources to execute operational growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team through a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the President to establish short-term and long-term strategic goals for the branch.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to drive operational success and growth.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in business, engineering, operations management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Branch or Operations Manager role within the construction or building materials industry is a MUST.
  • Proven record of improving operational efficiency and achieving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in developing and motivating teams.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this role consists of a competitive base salary depending on experience, an annual bonus, a great benefit program, RSP’s, and tremendous growth opportunity!
