Job summary

Poly-Nova Technologies in Ontario, Canada is looking for a Machine Operator (Day Shift) to support our production line from 6:50am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. This full-time role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement as you load, operate injection molding presses, and monitor parts.

You will complete shift paperwork, inspect parts within cycle time, and prepare finished components for shipping.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load rubber into presses and operate injection molding machines.
• Inspect parts within cycle time and follow quality instructions.
• Complete shift paperwork: logs, scrap sheets, production reports.
• Package finished parts and prepare for shipping with proper labeling.
• Notify supervisor of unusual scrap or defects.
• Maintain traceability with correct labeling on boxes.
• Ensure rubber-related issues, sprue inspection, and mold cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate shift records and participate in improvement initiatives.

Machine Operator - Day Shift

Shift: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Hours: 6:50am to 3:00pm

Pay Range: $20.08hr to $22.11 per hour

Position Overview

Machine Operators play a critical role in ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement at Poly-Nova Technologies. We are currently seeking a full-time Machine Operator (Day Shift)

This is an open position.

Key Responsibilities

• Load press/machine with correct rubber
• Operate injection molding machines and presses
• Closely inspect parts within cycle time by following quality inspection instructions and alerts, removing flash
• Complete shift paperwork: machine logs, scrap sheets, production reports, etc
• Package finished parts as per required quantity; label and prepare for shipping, place on skid
• Notify Supervisor or Lead Hand of any unusual amounts of scrap, including new/unusual defects
• Maintain traceability and identification of parts by confirming correct labels are placed on boxes
• Ensure fabric is pulled and sprues are inspected for mold foul, or orther rubber related issues

General Tasks (if relevant)

• Maintain accurate records related to the activity of the shift
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Communication of any issues during shift overlap to incoming Machine Operator
• General housekeeping: sweeping area, removing build-up of rubber and parts spillage in work area

Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies

• High school (Secondary School) diploma
• 1+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with SOPs and EH&S standards.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, policies, memos, and quality alerts.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Competent to operate press equipment: automated and manual

Physical & Technical Requirements

• General mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear required PPE
• Ability to lift 15-35 lbs (full cases of product and insert trays).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, with opportunities to sit during inspection tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
