Job summary

Canada Cartage Group is seeking a dependable AZ Driver to join our Ottawa operation. This part-time position runs Tuesday to Thursday with a 6:00pm–4:00am start, handling local deliveries and pickups on a safe, professional basis.

The role requires an AZ license, clean CVOR, and experience with eLogs and delivery documentation. Strong customer service and road-safety knowledge are essential, with ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver's license.
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract.
• Verifiable recent commercial driving experience.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions.
• Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across local routes.
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within the assigned region in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports.
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.
• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required.
