About The Role

The Operations Coordinator - New Graduate will provide assistance to the Plant Manager through field work, learning, development, and growth. The operations coordinator will participate in safety, coordination, and planning of the ongoing activities at various GVA plant operations to achieve business targets. Recent graduates from post-secondary institutions will be considered.

This opportunity is part of Lafarge’s New Graduate Development Path (NGDP). As part of the NGDP two-year journey, new graduates are provided with opportunities to connect with other new grads, gain exposure to various aspects of the Lafarge business, and embark on their own learning and development journey through e-learning and scheduled monthly Learning & Development sessions. The NGDP provides a head start for recently graduated individuals entering the workforce while fostering a strong sense of community within Lafarge.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Participate in safety initiatives to promote a zero-injury work environment, including risk assessments and workplace inspections.
  • Assist in quality control processes to ensure production of in-spec material daily.
  • Support the site manager in implementing production plans, metrics, and goals.
  • Help ensure the site meets or exceeds Lafarge and regulatory guidelines, and support community relations efforts.
  • Engage in learning and development activities to enhance business knowledge.
  • Participate in maintenance management through data input and reporting.
  • Promote safety and environmental policies, fostering a safety-first culture.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Recently obtained University Degree or College Diploma

Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Business, or related field

Experience: Up to 2 years of industry experience

Certifications: Construction Safety Officer (CSO)

Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Power BI (asset)

Travel: 0-10%

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong team player with analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Interest in long-term career growth in business, engineering, or construction.
  • Ability to handle difficult issues positively.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper PPE use, including being clean shaven for respirator fit testing.
