Lawtons in Dartmouth, NS is seeking an organized operations professional to support supervisors in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will help coordinate people, processes, and daily tasks to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include real-time task allocation via WMS, training staff on SOPs and safety, inventory checks, equipment tracking, and providing coverage to shipping/receiving. The role requires excellent communication and multitasking under pressure.

Qualifications

We’re looking for an organized and adaptable operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting supervisors and team leads, ensuring smooth daily operations, and helping employees stay engaged and productive. If you enjoy problem-solving, coordinating people and processes, and keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:
  • Assist in making real time decisions using a warehouse management system to allocate work and staff in the most effective manner (rearrange tasks based on work needed).
  • Seek improvements and innovations to optimize performance and productivity (typically, the coordinator acts as a participant in a lead project by the foreperson/senior foreperson).
  • Take and active role with employees and encourage their involvement.
  • Participate in training employees on procedures, health and safety, SOPs.
  • Perform daily inventory of pallets.
  • Track and monitor warehouse equipment including preventative maintenance scheduling/tracking.
  • Ensure the replenishment of warehouse supplies.
  • Provide support and coverage to shipping/receiving team leads and administration.
  • Conduct customer investigations and elevate as required.
  • Participate as a member of the JOHSC committee.
  • Conduct injury/accident investigations, reporting, and follow up with employees.
  • All other duties assigned by management.
  • Corrective actions resulting from audits or employee feedback.
  • Monitor and track transport equipment for maintenance, licencing etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
  • Post secondary degree o or diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years in distribution or personnel management (any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent will be considered)
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
  • Manages time and priorities effectively and maintains composure in stressful situations.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of EXE, SAP, BW, C3, TMS, Verisae & TMS.
  • Validdriver’s Licence is essential.
  • Technically inclined totroubleshoot.

Working Conditions:
  • Retail support center
  • Physical work including frequent bending, lifting and reaching
  • Two person lift required for weight exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for ling periods of time
  • Alertness to other person and vehicles
  • Various shifts including evenings and weekends and holidays.
