Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. seeks an O&M Integration Specialist to support readiness, asset management and lifecycle activities for the Calgary LRT program.

You will liaise with Calgary Transit, project delivery teams, contractors and maintainers to ensure O&M requirements are integrated during design, construction, testing and handover. The role requires a Engineering degree with P.Eng, 7+ years in railway/transit or major infrastructure, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and P.Eng license required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in railway/transit, infrastructure or major capital projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, coordination and technical review skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of O&M readiness, asset management and maintenance transition strategies.

• Coordinate interfaces between Operations, Maintenance, Systems Engineering and construction teams.

Job Description Overview

Our participation in the Calgary Green Line SE Segment as Delivery Partner is a key example of this. We are actively working on several other major Canadian Rail projects and have several other projects at the proposal stage or awaiting award. The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Integration Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of asset management, operational readiness, maintenance transition, and lifecycle management activities required for the successful delivery of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. This role serves as a key member of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team and acts as an interface between Calgary Transit, project delivery teams, contractors, maintainers, and stakeholders to ensure operational, maintenance, asset management, and readiness requirements are effectively integrated throughout design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.

Your role

Support the development and implementation of O&M readiness, asset management, maintenance transition, and operational integration strategies required to achieve successful transition to Revenue Service. Lead development and implementation of asset management processes, including asset registers, asset information requirements, asset acceptance criteria, maintenance planning frameworks, lifecycle management principles, and asset handover requirements. Provide technical review and input into engineering designs, specifications, O&M manuals, operating procedures, maintenance concepts, training materials, testing documentation, and contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with operational, maintainability, reliability, safety, and lifecycle requirements. Coordinate and support interfaces between Operations, Maintenance, Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance, Testing & Commissioning, Construction Management, contractors, and future maintainers to identify and resolve O&M readiness, asset management, and maintenance transition issues. Support development of key O&M deliverables, including maintenance strategies, maintenance transition plans, readiness assessments, operating procedures, emergency response documentation, and related operational readiness deliverables. Support readiness reviews, field assessments, interim maintenance activities, occupancy transfers, asset acceptance processes, training initiatives, workforce readiness planning, and maintenance mobilization activities required during project delivery. Represent the O&M function within project governance forums, technical workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings, while providing leadership support to the O&M team and acting on behalf of the O&M Integration Manager as required.

About you

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Railway, Mechanical, Electrical, Transportation, Industrial, Asset Management, Infrastructure Management, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience may be considered). P.Eng license required. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in railway, transit, infrastructure, operations, maintenance, systems integration, testing & commissioning, operational readiness, asset management and CMMS/EAM implementation, and major capital project delivery. Experience reviewing and delivering engineering designs, technical specifications and requirements registers, O&M manuals and procedures, and asset registers. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, technical review, and coordination skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary railway, transit, or major infrastructure project environments.
