About the Supervision Department

The rapidly changing payments landscape requires innovative supervision approaches. The Bank of Canada is implementing a Retail Payments Supervision (RPS) mandate under the Retail Payment Activities Act, overseeing retail payment service providers' compliance and operational risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess operational risks and controls of PSPs
• Analyze PSP reporting and incident reporting
• Communicate with PSPs regarding risk assessments
• Collaborate on supervisory actions
• Develop documentation and policies to enhance risk assessment processes

Qualifications

• Experience supervising operational risk in financial institutions or fintechs, or developing risk management policies
• Knowledge of the Canadian financial system and regulatory environment
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills

Education and Experience

Master's degree with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with six years of experience in financial risk management or policy development.

Language Requirement

Level 5 in English and French (Fully Functional), with training available if needed.

Work Model and Benefits
