Job summary

West Fraser’s North Central Woodlands team seeks an Operational Planner to lead safe, innovative forestry planning in Slave Lake and High Prairie, Alberta.

You'll develop harvest plans, coordinate field work, and manage contractor relations while collaborating with government agencies. Proficiency in ArcGIS and a commitment to safety and sustainability are essential for shaping the future of our forestry operations.

Qualifications

• RPF or RPFT designation in Alberta, or eligibility to obtain designation.
• Safety-minded with strong environmental stewardship.
• Proficient in ArcGIS and related GIS applications.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and desire to build a long-term forestry career.

Responsibilities

You’ll Do:

• Develop harvest and road plans that meet regulatory requirements and company standards

You have:

• Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forest Technologist (RPFT) designation in Alberta, or eligibility and willingness to obtain designation
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and related GIS applications
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• A positive attitude, initiative, and a desire to build a long-term forestry career
