RBC Dominion Securities Inc. is seeking an operations specialist in Performance Measurement to analyze client rate of return calculations and ensure data integrity across inputs and reporting.

You will act as a central contact for business partners on performance ROR inquiries and collaborate with IT and various Canadian Operations teams to deliver timely solutions. You will work closely within Performance Measurement, Pricing, and the broader RBC ecosystem to drive accurate attribution,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GIPS and performance reporting standards.
• Strong working knowledge of RBC Wealth Management systems.
• Excellent relationship management and analytical skills.
• Ability to research and resolve performance-related matters.
• Experience with multiple portfolio management systems.
• Proficiency in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Analyze fluctuation of market value/gain/losses/return of capital price changes, security level attributions.
• Ensure data integrity of inputs, calculations, and reporting.
• Provide Dominion Securities, PH&N Investment Counsel and Direct Investing with superior service around clients’ portfolio performance.
• Advocate for SLA performance and monitor delivery.
• Collaborate with SMEs, PMs and IT/business partners to deliver solutions.
• Present information to stakeholders across varying seniority levels.

What is the opportunity?

Operation specialist in Performance Measurement group. Analyzes operational problems related to client rate of return, money weighted vs. time weighted calculations. Act as a central point of contact for business partners on inquiries associated with performance ROR. This role will be working very closely within the larger Performance Measurement, Pricing group and IT/Business partners ensuring data integrity of inputs, calculations, and accurate reporting.

This role will be working very closely within the larger Performance Measurement, Pricing group and IT/Business partners ensuring data integrity of inputs, calculations, and accurate reporting.

What will you do?

• Investigate and understand clients’ accounts and portfolios returns.
• Analyze fluctuation of market value/gain/losses/return of capital price changes, security level attributions etc
• Comfortable with working independently and in group and adhering to committed deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Work proactively and deliver on time, especially on month end and quarter end where volumes are high and time is limited
• Provide Dominion Securities, PH&N Investment Counsel and Direct Investing with superior service around clients’ portfolio performance, with specific focus around time weighted vs. money weighted rate of returns.
• Actively and accurately investigate and analyze account activity for impacts to clients’ portfolio performance calculations / attribution. Research transactions (trades, income distributions, etc.) across multiple RBC portfolio management systems to provide issues resolution for internal and external clients.
• Provide guidance to DS branches, IC offices regarding operational policies, procedures and regulatory framework
• Advocate and champion strong Service Level Agreement performance and delivery through ongoing monitoring
• Work closely with SMEs, Project Managers and other Canadian Operations teams as well as IT and business partners to deliver solutions to issues and inquiries

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

• Knowledge and understanding of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS), particularly Time Weighted vs. Money Weighted Rate of Return
• Strong foundation in RBC WM’s operational and portfolio management systems, Broadridge, ServiceLink, ClientSource, ClientLink, FMC, PACER,PERSYS, etc
• Comfortable with working independently and in group and adhering to committed deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Exceptional relationship management and analytical skills. Ability to communicate and partner effectively with Front Office professionals to research and resolve performance related matters.
• Leverage internal and external contacts to address / resolve issues and opportunities.
• Manage multiple project tasks, activities.
• Escalate problems to management as required.
• Ability to present information and data in a structured manner to stakeholders of varying seniority levels across the organization.
• Technical skills required – MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint at an intermediate to advanced level
