Job summary

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario is seeking a Compliance Officer to support its regulatory compliance program. You will conduct on-site inspections, assess risks, and prepare findings in a fast-paced environment that requires travel across Ontario.

The role demands strong English communication, auditing experience, and the ability to work in a hybrid office setting in Mississauga. Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Complaints, you will help ensure consumer protection under the Travel

Qualifications

  • Experience in on-site inspections or audits, preferably with a regulatory body.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Regulatory Compliance, or related field (2–4 years experience).
  • CPA/CIA/CFE or equivalent is an asset but not required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent English communication, written and verbal.
  • Customer service, interpersonal skills, and ability to handle challenging stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel across Ontario; travel-friendly.
  • Knowledge of travel industry and Travel Industry Act is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments for compliance with the Travel Industry Act and Regulation 26/05.
  • Provide information to stakeholders clearly in writing, by phone, or in person.
  • Prepare risk assessments and inspection findings reports with actionable conclusions.
  • Perform compliance reviews of registrant marketing for accuracy and disclosures.
  • Maintain compliance files in the DMS and coordinate with the Complaints Department.
  • Travel across the Province of Ontario for inspections and engagements.
