Alpine Ontario seeks an assistant coach for the Ontario Development Ski Team to support athletes in reaching their goals. This role focuses on coaching, training logistics, and ensuring inclusivity and safety. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of ski racing, teamwork skills, and the ability to motivate high-performance athletes.
Position: Contract (~8 months – August – April 15)
Reports to: ODST Head Coach
The Team:
The Ontario Development Ski Team is a high-performance program made up of Ontario’s best U18 FIS ski racers, and based in Collingwood Ontario. The primary goal of the Ontario Development Ski Team is to provide athletes with the best possible preparation on route to the Ontario Ski Team and Canadian Alpine Ski Team, and focuses primarily on performance at regional and national FIS racing, with exposure to international competition.
Position Summary:
The role of the assistant coach is to support the Ontario Development Ski Team Athletes in reaching their athletic goals, and to support the ODST Head Coaches in delivering the program. All ODST coaches should understand and promote the vision, goals and culture of Alpine Ontario. This will involve being a team player and leading by example on and off the hill. All coaches are expected to embrace the demands of the job, which involves extensive travel nationally and internationally and representing Ontario at all events including FIS, Nor am, and other international competitions.
