Job summary

PCL Industrial Management Inc. in Edmonton region is seeking a Site-based Project Controls Coordinator for the Fort Saskatchewan area. You will lead a multi-disciplinary project controls team across scheduling, estimating, cost-control and document control.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project managers, change management, and timely monthly cost and schedule reporting. A construction background and mentoring experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Construction trade certification with equivalent experience, or post-secondary diploma or degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
• Relevant designation is an asset.
• 3 years of project controls experience in construction or related field.
• Experience mentoring others on scheduling and forecasting resources.
• Understanding of contract language and ability to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
• Experience working for a contractor is preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with project management functions including scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management and document control.
• Proficiency with estimating methods and practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Participates and leads a multi-disciplinary project controls team (scheduling, estimating, cost-control, document control).
• Collaborates with construction/project manager and project team; develops recovery plans for schedule issues.
• Analyzes and communicates trending schedule, progress, and cost information to project personnel.
• Mentors project team and superintendents on site regarding project controls.
• Coordinates scope changes and budget/schedule impact analyses with partners.
