Job summary

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. is seeking a Project Controls/PMO professional to support scheduling, cost control, and risk management for complex projects at our Whiteshell, Manitoba site.

You will collaborate with project managers and work package leaders to keep schedules, budgets, and performance metrics on track, while maintaining risk registers and changing control documentation. Onsite role with a strong focus on data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• PMI project management principles and processes.
• Experience supporting scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change control for large or complex projects.
• Applied earned value management and performance measurement techniques.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and provide practical solutions.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative skills across teams and organizational levels.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Experience with Primavera and Cobra/Merlin/PCRS is an asset.
• Actively pursuing CAPM certification.
• Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Support development, maintenance, and updating of project schedules with project managers and work package leaders.
• Identify critical paths, milestones, dependencies, and schedule risks; recommend recovery strategies.
• Integrate resource planning into schedules for personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures; track variances against baselines and forecast accurately.
• Prepare cost performance and earned value reports to assess project health.
• Coordinate with finance to support cash flow planning and cost reporting.
• Produce consolidated dashboards, reports, and presentations summarizing progress, costs, risks, and KPIs.
• Analyze performance against KPIs; explain variances and address promptly.
• Maintain change logs; support evaluation of scope, schedule, and cost impacts from changes.
• Support risk and issue management by maintaining risk registers and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate with procurement for contract tracking and vendor performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate project performance.
• Mentor junior staff and support knowledge sharing.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
