Job description

The position we are looking to fill is that of an Onsite Machinist. If hired, you would be responsible for setting up and operating portable equipment to complete various onsite machining tasks, including flange facing, cold pipe cutting and prepping, portable milling, line boring, journal turning, etc. You would travel to different plant and industrial sites for shutdown or emergency repair work.

Currently, we are looking to hire the following individuals for this role :

• Journeyman Machinist – An experienced machinist with extensive manual shop or onsite machining experience.
• Machinist Apprentice – A beginner with some manual shop or onsite machining experience.

Responsibilities :

• Operate portable and onsite machining equipment at various sites.
• Modify parts and develop solutions for complex onsite machining projects.
• Perform routine maintenance on portable equipment.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in onsite or manual machining or related fields is required.
• Familiarity with machine tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

Training in safety courses such as CSTS2020, CSO, H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, WHMIS, etc., is an added benefit.
