Job summary

Northern Computer Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician to join our on-site team across BC from Kelowna. You’ll be the face of on-site support, installing gear, resolving issues, and coordinating with the Service Desk, NOC/SOC, Projects, and Account Management.

You’ll perform Tier 2–3 troubleshooting, maintain clear ticketing documentation, and ensure proactive visits/ deployments are completed with quality. Travel up to 75% required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of IT Field Services experience.
• Minimum 3 years supporting business technology environments.
• Tier 2 to Tier 3 technical support experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite technical support as the primary technician for client environments (Tier 1-2).
• Diagnose, repair, and validate fixes for endpoint, network edge, and infrastructure issues.
• Complete proactive site visits on a regular cadence with documented findings.
• Install and stage hardware including servers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Execute device adds/moves/changes and support scheduled deployments with NOC/Service Desk/Projects.
• Maintain high-quality ticketing practices with clear documentation and next steps.
• Update IT Glue documentation after onsite visits and config changes.
• Communicate clearly with end users and site contacts with professional onsite interactions.
