Job summary

Kiwassa Neighbourhood House is seeking a Childcare Coordinator, ECE in East Vancouver. The role oversees a staff team, volunteers and students, plans activities, orients families and coordinates classroom operations in a licensed childcare setting.

Requires ECE licensure in British Columbia, supervisory experience, and a commitment to inclusive community programming. This is a full-time, onsite contract with a mid-late November start and a possible extension.

Qualifications

• ECE license in British Columbia required when hired.
• Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
• Experience in the social services/not-for-profit sector.
• Supervisory experience in a childcare setting.
• Experience with children with special needs.
• First Aid certificate required - Emergency Child Care First Aid or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, guidance and operational leadership.
• Plan and implement activities for individual and group needs of all children.
• Establish positive daily communication and relationships with parents, children and staff.
• Maintain staff timesheets, scheduling and program records.
• Ensure safety, licensing standards and KNH procedures are followed.
