Job summary

BGC Central Vancouver Island is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant in Ladysmith, BC. This full-time role supports ECEs to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can play, learn, and grow on a reliable weekday schedule.

You will work with young children birth to five, assist with daily routines, activities, and documentation, and contribute to a team that values safety, development, and strong family relationships. Benefits include extended health and holidays.

Qualifications

• Approved ECEA Certification through the Early Childhood Registry of B.C.
• First Aid/CPR certificate approved by Community Care Facilities
• Commitment to a consistent Monday-Friday schedule; Driver's license is an asset
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility; passion for working with children birth to 5 years
• Must be 19 years or older and legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Team Collaboration: Work as a key member of an integrated team prioritizing inclusion and excellence.
• Engaging Activities: Help carry out developmentally appropriate experiences to spark curiosity.
• Daily Support: Follow schedules balancing indoor/outdoor play and group/individual activities.
• Safety First: Maintain constant supervision and ensure age-appropriate activities.
• Care & Routine: Attend to diapering, toileting, and nutrition with empathy and professionalism.
• Clear Communication: Maintain records including daily attendance and logs
