Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to join the SOM Psychiatry team in Chapel Hill. You will greet patients, document vitals, assist with TMS and Esketamine procedures, and support physicians and staff in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires at least one year of full-time MA experience, MA certification, and BLS. This on-site role offers standard 40-hour weeks and free parking.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage positively with patients and families and to work as a team with staff and providers.
• Ability to use a computer to document required information into the EMR.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting all patients.
• Obtaining and documenting vital signs.
• Assisting with TMS procedure and documentation.
• Assisting with Esketamine treatment and documentation.
• Collect and document depression and anxiety screening scales.
• Reviewing and responding to emails and inbaskets.
• Answering incoming calls and returning calls from voicemail.
• Obtaining labs.
• Administering injections.
• Participating in department quality improvement activities.
• Attending daily huddles and staff meetings as needed.
• Communicating with direct and indirect team members to problem solve as a unit.
